 Katie found AFA on the internet and began volunteering at the age of 22 during the summer of 2009. Due to her busy schedule, Katie doesn’t come out as often as she’d like to, but does make appearances on some Wednesdays to help out Kathleen. Although she cleans cages, we think Katie would much rather play with the animals. LOL. However, that’s important, because the animals need attention too. In fact, being around the animals and being able to pet them is Katie’s favorite part about volunteering for AFA. And, coincidentally, her least favorite part is… cleaning cages. Go figure.
Katie’s favorite animals at AFA are the wild cats, and her most memorable moment is when she first got to pet our cougar Goliath. But she’s not without her own critters to dote over. Katie shares her Homer Glen abode with two turtles and a cat.
When Katie isn’t going to school for game design, she enjoys playing video games such as Final Fantasy or watching anime like Sailor moon.
Katie is a really sweet girl who loves to shop for the animals. She just adores all of them and loves to play with them. Katie is kindhearted and the animals take well to her. We enjoy having her around.
