Using a 3rd party helps us keep our costs low and allows us to spend more time and money on our programs.

All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Please consider donating to Animals for Awareness or another non-profit organization in your area!

Checks should be made payable to Animals for Awareness and sent to P.O. Box 56, Palos Park, Illinois 60464. Thank you for your generosity.

Animals for Awareness began almost 30 years ago to tend to the complicated needs of displaced wild and exotic animals. For over 21 years they have been located in Palos Park with no complaints, issues or concerns from the public. But Cook County Building and Zoning has now determined that Animals for Awareness can no longer operate on the premises of Kim and David Schilling due to a zoning technicality.

All animals are being displaced and relocated to safe havens in other Illinois counties and Indiana until a new location can be found and funded. This will cost about $500,000.

Animals for Awareness has rescued, rehabilitated and/or provided safe haven for hundreds and hundreds of animals throughout the years. They have touched the lives of tens of thousands of people with their hands-on educational programs. They has been available 24/7 365 days a week for phone calls from people needing help or advice. Perhaps you have been one of these people they have helped or touched.

The time has come for you to help Animals for Awareness and their animals! They are currently looking for a minimum of 5 acres in Will County. Would prefer property that has living quarters already on it with some out buildings as well. Homer Glen, Lemont or Lockport are ideal.

The crew at Animals for Awareness has high aspirations and is very enthusiastic about the opportunity before them. Indoor / outdoor cages for all of the mammals. A seasonal indoor / outdoor pool for (y)our favorite alligator Boots. Spacious, natural habitats! A real laundry room and food preparation area. The list goes on.
